Since 1954, SCHUBERTH has set the standard in aero acoustics. Engineering helmets that have become the benchmark in quietness, comfort, and aerodynamic performance. Now, a new chapter begins. The C5 ANC continues this legacy by delivering a helmet that takes aeroacoustic performance to new levels.
Tuned For The Road
Riders are constantly exposed to a wide range of noises while out on the road. Some of which can be distracting, cause fatigue, and potentially lead to long term hearing damage. Active Noise Cancellation technology can help control the sounds riders are exposed to. However, unlike traditional Active Noise Cancellation systems, this system isn’t built for airplanes or coffee shops, it’s tuned for the road.
Outstanding Aeroacoustics Performance
Since the first CONCEPT helmet, outstanding aeroacoustic performance has been one of the distinguishing elements of all SCHUBERTH modular helmets. During the development of the C5 ANC our technicians worked with Cardo Sound Labs, spending more than 200 hours in SCHUBERTH property wind tunnel optimising the helmet shell design and the ANC tuning.
All these elements allow the C5 ANC to achieve new levels of noise reduction, and improved rider experience while on the road.
- DFP (Direct Fiber Processing) fiberglass shell reinforced with carbon fibre for improved shock absorption strength and lighter weight.
- New EPS with dual-density zones in the central and side areas, delivering enhanced shock absorption and increased internal headroom.

How powerful is the ANC?
The C5 ANC has noise reduction capabilities of up to 10dB in the 100–700 Hz range. This range is targeted because it is where much of the wind and turbulence noise that contributes to fatigue and potential long-term hearing damage is found.
Importantly, the system is designed to reduce unwanted noise while retaining essential sounds such as engine noise, surrounding traffic and emergency sirens. It does not create a silent helmet, but it does make the riding environment noticeably quieter and more comfortable.
How do you enable ANC?
When the SC EDGE ANC is first powered on, the ANC function will be off. As such, it is necessary to turn on the ANC functionality for any demonstrations/rides.
ANC can be turned on in one of three ways:
- Say “Hey Cardo, ANC on”
- Enable it via the settings in the Cardo Connect app
- Press and hold the ‘-‘ button for 2 seconds
Does ANC cause hearing damage?
No. The ANC functionality does not add noise to mask sound. Instead, it uses waves that are like a mirror image of the unwanted noise. These waves then help cancel each other out.
